Ironworkers Local 5 was chartered in 1901 and currently represents more than 1,400 Ironworkers in the Mid-Atlantic regions, including Journeymen, Apprentices and Retirees. Located in the heart of our nation’s capital, we represent Ironworkers from the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia. Ironworkers Local 5 has been a part of the construction team for a majority of the most famous structures in our area including the Capital Building, FedEx Field, M&T Bank Stadium, Nationals Park, Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Capital One Arena, Capital One Headquarters, Amazon Headquarters, Woodrow Wilson Bridge, Chesapeake Bay Bridge, and South Capitol Street Bridge to name a few.
